Game developer Gamesoft PTY, LTD, which is based in Sydney, and never to be confused with Gameloft, which is based in Paris, France, has a new game visiting PC, consoles, and mobile devices later this year. Working with publisher Appsquare, which is also based in Sydney, Gamesoft is developing a game that’s set in a Steampunk-inspired world. Clockwork will challenge your mind and game-playing skills. It has an intriguing story, puzzles, and platforming.

Upon viewing the initial trailer of Clockwork, the game mechanics are akin to a PC/PlayStation game called The Swapper, which was developed and published by Facepalm Games in 2013. Both of these games are side-scrolling/platforming games that involve the manipulation of your time. The game setting for The Swapper is within space, and is science fiction. Gamesoft has established a fascinating story, while using the a Steampunk theme like a backdrop, to inform the storyplot of their main character, which seems to be an analog little boy, that glows with light.

One from the first things you notice about Clockwork is the art. It is striking and lures you in to the lush world that Gamesoft has created. The fact is, this was among the driving forces for the game. “Clockwork began like a collaboration between artist Arianne Elliot and designer Adam Pinto who shared an appreciation of games like Limbo and Braid, platformers with beautiful art, innovative puzzles and compelling stories. Together they imagined the steampunk realm of Clockwork and eight months later with the aid of an event team of developers, they are prepared to bring that world to life.” – Gamesoft PTY, LTD

Clockwork Features:

A specific release date for Clockwork has not been set. The goal is to release the sport later this season.
