Temple Run 2 gets updated with the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee as a playable character

In relation to brand cross-overs, franchises like Angry Birds and Puzzle & Dragons tend to do a lot of them. While this may get played out eventually, especially with Angry Birds, every so often a cross-over does happen that’s just plain cool and Temple Run 2 has begun one that is exactly that. Go into the Temple (see what we should did there?) with Bruce Lee!

Puns aside, Temple Run 2 now has Bruce Lee as a playable character. Why? Well to begin it’s Bruce Lee’s 75th birthday and this is to celebrate that. Bruce Lee was always fast and agile in the movies so it’s fitting that he maintain a game title like Temple Run 2 where being fast and agile is kind of the primary attributes you need. The sport itself hasn’t changed though, it simply has Bruce Lee as a playable character. It is a bit odd to determine Bruce Lee running for his life from Demon Monkeys though since he was a pretty big bad ass.

I’m very excited to have my dad end up part of the Temple Run family. It’s apropos the character will launch in 2015, which just is actually his 75th birthday year! Besides this being a great and fun method to celebrate my father’s birthday, but I’m grateful that my father’s legacy will continue to live on for fans of all ages via our partnership with Imangi. – Shannon Lee, CEO of Bruce Lee, LLC

There is a addition to the game though that comes with playing as Bruce Lee. Players running as Bruce Lee will even receive encouragement via excerpts from his inspiring quotes. So now you can feel a little bit more of the bad ass in the real world with a few of these quotes floating around in your mind.

The update for Temple Run 2 has become live on Google Play and could be downloaded at any time.
