Google opens up a new storefront online specifically for device sales

Written by AndrewH

Up so far should you wished to buy a Nexus brand device or perhaps a Chromebook, you would have to visit the Google Play store and order it from there. Today Google has officially released a brand new storefront online focused on just device sales. By trying to buy a tool on the internet Play now, you’ll be redirected towards the new Google Store.

This new store, officially called Google Store (original right?), will house all Google’s devices that are now available for sale as well as future devices they release. This may include their Nexus brand Android devices (both phones and tablets), Chromebooks, Android Wear Watches, the Nexus Player, Chromecast, and finally the Nest Thermostat.

The layout for that store is rather nice with everything nicely organized and easily accessible. Each device type features its own category as well so when you need to look for a new Nexus device, you simply navigate to that particular area. Same goes for Android Wear Watches, Chromebooks, etc etc.

While this isn’t Android gaming related, Google did launch a new Chromebook Pixel with the launch of the new online store too. In terms of hardware, the brand new Chromebook Pixel has two configurations – Intel? Core? i5, 8G RAM, 32GB SSD or Intel? Core? i7, 16GB RAM, 64GB SSD. The Intel i5 has a price of $999 while the Intel i7 model is $1299.
