Final Fantasy: Record Keeper pre-registration bonus announced and it’s actually kind of neat

Written by AndrewH

A couple of weeks ago Square Enix announced an entirely new mobile Final Fantasy game that’ll be heading our way soon called Final Fantasy: Record Keeper. Since that announcement pre-registration has been readily available for those of you who know you are going to receive farmville if this launches. According to usual, when you pre-register for a game, you wind up getting an in-game bonus/reward or two when the game actually launches.

Final Fantasy: Record Keeper, in case you missed our previous coverage, is going to take all the favorite fan moments, characters, and battles all the previous Final Fantasy games and stitch them together to create a whole new game and storyline. All of the characters in-game could be completely customized and equipped with iconic gear, powerful spells, summons, and hundreds of weapon coming from all the previous games. Battles in Final Fantasy: Record Keeper use Square Enix’s ATB (Active Time Battle) system which are all from past games as well but happen to be put together as a completely new storyline. The entire concept is actually pretty interesting.

Square Enix did something such as what Gameloft did using the Dungeon Hunter 5 pre-registration, having a bar there that slowly fills as people socially share the pre-registration page as they subscribe to the sport themselves. Since this game’s bar has hit 600,000 points, Square Enix has unveiled what that reward is going to be – the 8-bit Creator. As Square Enix explains it:

Fans will have a chance to have their likeness brought to life as an 8-bit character created by the FINAL FANTASY creative team, cementing their devote FINAL FANTASY history.

In other words you will be able to make yourself into an 8-bit character and, if the creative team picks it, they will make your likeness into an 8-bit character themselves. There are pre-registered yet, that can be done here. There’s still no specific release date for Android, that it will likely be this Spring.

Just a side note, the actual 8-bit Creator will not be a part of the actual game. It is simply a web-based reward to play around with and you’ve got a chance to have your creation actually in the game.
