A new Shoot ’em Up, or Shmup for short, is heading our way after this month called Son of sunshine. Developed by Uncommon Games, this new Shmup was apparently inspired by the gameplay found in another title called Knightmare Tower.
Update: February 3rd, 2015 7:13am PST: In the event you forgot, Son of sunshine can be obtained on Google Play. It had been released right on time and is available to download from Google Play free of charge to try out. Download link at the end of this article.
Son of Light is a top-down scrolling arcade shooter with a flare for retro design in the visuals. However, this game plays out a little differently than your standard arcade shooters. Instead of going through level after level, in Son of Light you will have to complete 10 levels consecutively in order to complete the sport. Including bosses you’ll have to beat, enemies sneaking up to you, and waves of enemies coming right at you.

Of course like every good bet on this kind, players have a number of boosts and power-ups that will help you complete you 10 levels. You can also enhance your ship along this way with better shields, jet engines, guns, and other useful gear. Eventually additionally, you will collect enough speed bonuses to reach the speed of sunshine. There actually appears to be a great deal stuffed in to the 10 levels you need to complete in a row. If you do not make this happen, you end up continuing until you do.
Son of Light is going to be available on Google Experience January30th, 2015. No word on which the price will be when it launches but when you grab a copy from the game before February 9th, 2015, you’ll be rewarded with a surprise. We do not know what that surprise is though.
