Club Nintendo will be replaced with… something… with this new DeNA / Nintendo partnership

Written by AndrewH

Earlier this morning Nintendo and DeNA announced a partnership where the two companies could be working together to create Nintendo IPs to mobile gamers. These will be arriving the form of completely new games that will be based off of currently existing IPs like Mario Bros. on their other platforms. Part of that announcement also was about a brand new multi-membership service that will be built.

This new multi-membership service is going to be replacing the currently existing Club Nintendo service. This cool product, which doesn’t have an official name right now, will “encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the brand new hardware system having a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs, and Nintendo will be the primary party to function this new membership service”. In other words Nintendo is going to be running this new milti-platform members service. Think about note here, Ninentdo basically just admitted to currently having a new console that they are developing right now, denoted as the NX. That, however, has nothing to do with Android.

Nintendo, together with DeNA, will jointly create a new membership service which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the brand new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs, and Nintendo will be the primary party to function this new membership service. Unlike the Club Nintendo membership service that Nintendo has been operating, the brand new membership service will include multiple devices and create a link between Nintendo and every individual consumer whatever the device the consumer uses. This membership will form among the core aspects of the brand new Nintendo platform which i just mentioned. – Satoru Iwata Director and President of Nintendo

What exactly this new service will offer users remains seen but we are able to speculate that, apart from a few of the features now available with Club Nintendo, you will see cloud saves for games that show up on multiple platforms later on along with other similar utilities. A minimum of it what we should hope to see. The new service will be implemented within the upcoming mobile games Nintendo releases. The new platform that Iwata references is not only this new service but the new console NX that’s being worked on.

We is going to be keeping an eye on the introduction of this cool product and will post updates as we find out more about it in the coming month.
